Queen Sheba D. Cisse Honored at Guzakuza Agriculture Awards Graduation in Ghana

From thousands of miles away across the Atlantic ocean in the pre-dawn hours, Queen Sheba D. Cisse stood on the stage which in this unique case was her suite, apartment, library or where-ever with radiating grace and determination she could find to attend the five months long of five acts for the 2024 Cohort 8 fellowship. . She zoomed in from the United States , representing her impactful organization, Queen Sheba Village, to receive a distinguished award for her dedication to agricultural empowerment. The ceremony, held by Guzakuza—a prominent organization nurturing women in agribusiness—was a celebration of resilience, innovation, and the transformative power of agriculture in Africa.

A Journey of Purpose

Queen Sheba Village, under her leadership, has redefined the role of agriculture in Senegal’s communities. This unique program caught the attention of Guzakuza, earning Queen Sheba D. Cisse a spot among their celebrated honorees.

Her introduction speech was met with a milestone of acceptance. “This award is not just for me,” she said, her voice unwavering. “It is dedicated to my beloved grandmother Sayida Iretta Brown and my ancestors tilling the soil and never received any respect or recognition for their stolen land and crops. Additionally, every youth dreaming of change, and every community believing in the transformative power of agriculture.”

Graduation and Empowerment

The ceremony was a culmination of Guzakuza’s annual program, which empowers women to become leaders in agribusiness. Graduates from across Africa shared their success stories, and Queen Sheba D. Cisse was a source of inspiration for many. Her journey, from a visionary leader in Senegal to an award recipient in Ghana, embodied the strength and unity of African women striving for progress.

Impact and Recognition

During her fellowship, Queen Sheba D. Cisse participated in panel discussions, sharing insights about sustainable farming and community-driven initiatives. She emphasized the importance of collaboration across borders to combat food insecurity and empower marginalized groups.

The recognition further fueled her mission. Upon her return to Senegal, she announced plans to expand Queen Sheba Village’s programs, incorporating lessons learned from Guzakuza’s model to strengthen regional partnerships and build a brighter future for African agriculture.

Volunteer Appreciation

While we cannot entirely control what happens to us in life, we can control how we show up for it.

Building a network of meaningful #relationships is something I’m truly grateful for, as it has always helped to expand my knowledge of the world around me. It has also given me the gift of joy when I have the opportunity to help others.

When putting together a packet for something I’m keeping close to my heart right now, I reached out to a great#mentor/prior director of mine Queen Sheba D Cisse for a Letter of recommendation. Without hesitation, from halfway across the world, she was all-in. Thank you for the meaningful letter and it’s an honor to know someone who dedicates herself to the service of others and improving #humanity

Grateful 20th Anniversary

Happy Serving Birthday 20 Year Anniversary!

We collectively thank GOD for starting this journey 20 years ago September 2004. I was invited to Senegal a year prior. I started to plan but as always GOD’s plan is better for me as I experienced the years ahead. I say we because my adoptive caring son Moustapha (who is a pain in the tush (laugh) was under 10 years at the time) surprisingly with maturity and understanding to want to aid me on this journey. Long story short I ask you to read much here(website) about whom we are and what we have accomplished together with the support of International volunteers, donors and fan supporters and yes the rest is truly ” our story” and it’s beautiful and authentic.

Together We Thank You for your support in this remarkable thrill of aiding humanity in the western horn of Teranga, Senegal!

Menstrual Health in Africa

Millions of girls and women are experiencing menstruation health poverty in Africa; more than double the proportion of any other Continent in the world. This growing concern in these countries cause severe conditions of disease and despair, leading to the loss of lives on a regular basis. Women and girls do not have the education and financial economical means to manage their monthly menstruation safely and effectively. Inadequate Infrastructures for decent sanitation needs is also a huge lack. All of the above and more needs to be address to tackle the rooted issues head on.

Queen Sheba Village is joining likeminded NGOS to discuss and develop long-term solutions aimed at providing a sustainable healthcare kits for poor communities as well as supporting needy widows and girls through the distribution of healthy hygiene packages. We have received many requests for sanitary feminine products and we also feel the need to address the ongoing issues associated with it. It is for good reason I began writing the details for this program dedicated to the females in which I adore to teach one woman and girl at a time.

With your donating generosity and our collaborative efforts with other non governmental organizations we can continue the efforts in positively impacting the lives of the underprivileged and under served in rural communities. We start educating at home in Senegal and join additional neighbors one country at a time.

Stay tuned for an additional post as we continue to research and share the details of this much needed program to be realized to be included in our health/hygiene events upcoming, GOD willing.

QUEEN SHEBA VILLAGE and the Talibes

QUEEN SHEBA VILLAGE (QSV) is a nonprofit organization that focuses on women and girls education, social welfare and more.  It does not exclude families and males. In fact the organization has held several programs and events over the years pre nonprofit and after our ruling year of 2013 catering to families benefiting everyone whom participated.  QSV welcomes collaborations with like-minded Associations and NGO’s in the future whom in particular work on behalf of orphans and Talibe children.

In 2004, Queen Sheba D. Cisse, the founder of QSV Organization first visited the country after being invited by the brilliant late scholar Iman Shaykh Assane Cisse ( RTA) of Medina Kaolack.

“I remember how excited I was once the plane touched down on Senegalese soil in Dakar. I happily claimed my luggage and was eager to meet a family member of the Scholar Imam to pick me up as I was stepping off the curve of the sidewalk I was greeted by children with bowls begging. It was my first reality experience on this sensitive issue. My heart dropped to be confronted like this. My happiness diminished suddenly and my spirit was emotionally clouded. I had researched and read back at that time there were nearly 55,000 children on the street in the same conditions of having to depend on the public to feed or care for them. Since that time I have come across several groups struggling to maintain refuge for male children in the same condition throughout Senegal. We ask God that our missionary work is contagious enough that collectively organizations of all kinds and communities in Senegal prioritize meetings to discuss solutions to bring about CHANGE. We no longer can sit back waiting for the leaders of African countries to pass laws that are there but not practiced.” ~ Founder Queen Sheba Cisse

Partnering with QUEEN SHEBA VILLAGE with a concrete plan and goals of your development will attract our team to take the conversation to the next level to secure future collaborations. Currently QSV is on a unique development mission fundraising to build a women and girls educational empowerment Social Center to be able to include and address such important concerns. Queen Cisse was born in North America, USA where children are protected by laws preventing this horrific epidemic. As an African that has returned to her home and native country Senegal, Queen Cisse believes it is high time to “Take a stand and take Action!”

If seriously interested in a future partnership collaboration please get in touch periodically and contact us at queenshebavillage.org and by mobile 76 460 4454, 78 442 1373.

Micro Finance Our Way Loan

International volunteer Merilyn interview with Ndeye Khardiata

Ndeye is a mother of many, and highly business minded woman. She has been running her business from a very tender age (before marriage) and does not remember her exact age. She says entrepreneurship runs in her blood. She has a passion for action. Ndeye orders clothes in to sell and has a tailoring business where she has hired tailors working. She also has a wide variety of shoes and hand bags that she orders in to sell.

Ndeye believes in empowering other women by inspiring them with her life. She says that other women should feel like they can also run a business through her example. She also wants to be better than other tailors on the market by providing quality work. She says her customers are always happy with their products and this is a plus for her.

In five years’ time, Ndeye sees her business running not from her home or spare bedroom, but in a shop. She also envisions traveling to order in products from other countries like Dubai. She has big dreams and believes a loan from QSV will help her achieve this. Additionally, she envisions her business running in a shop so that she can be able to employ more youths that are unemployed and looking for a means to make a living. Ndeye is a tailor and has trained all her tailors, and wants to train even more young motivated youths.

Ndeye also believes she will be able to pay back the loan little by little because her business provides a steady revenue.

Mariama Ba, fully recommends Ndeye as a candidate that can be well trusted for this loan. Mariama has been Ndeye’s faithful client for many years now, and fully vouches for her. Below are several more pictures of Ndeye’s business.
