Lake Retba, better known as Le Lake Rose (Lac Rose), owes its fame to its hue, which changes from pink to mauve depending on the intensity of the sun’s rays, and also to the Paris-Dakar rally of which it was the final stage.
Located about 30 km northeast of the capital Dakar , it is one of the most visited sites on the Cape Verde peninsula . In the vicinity of the lake, many camps and hotels welcome visitors and tourists alike.
